23 Apr 1941: We have advanced into Lithuania and there is an obvious weakness in the 'gap' between two armies S. of Daugavpils.
24 Apr 1941: In Armee Ost's sector we have penetrated deep into Soviet territory. We need to widen the breach and advance on Bobruysk.
25 Apr 1941: The spearhead as reached Mogilev and we are now N. of Bobruysk in force. We also want to break out to the North of Mogilev.
We haven't yet linked up with our two Fallschirmjäger-Divisionen but since they are not involved in combat their supplies are not being exhausted.
I order 3 divisions from Army Ost to counter an attack on Mogilev.
The counter was successful and so 9. and 11. Panzer-Divisionen are ordered to advance further to Smolensk. That is the half-way point to Moscow.
On its southern flank Armee Nord 2 is ordered to capture Bobruysk then relieve the Fallschirmjäger.
28 Apr 1941: Armee Süd has penetrated the Soviet defences N. of Romania and 1. SS Panzerarmee has been ordered to pass through the gap and capture Kiev.
Elements of Armee Süd have advanced further and will soon reach Cherkasy, SE of Kiev.
Italy is again asking to join the Axis. You can guess my response.
Of course, no problem.
Bobruysk has been captured and II. Panzerarmee has been ordered south to Mozyr to surround Soviet forces still defending their border.
Odessa has been captured and the Soviet forces are fleeing eastwards.
29 Apr 1941: Armee Mitte isn't advancing at all but they are pinning down forces we intend to encircle.
01 May 1941: The Soviet's first major city has fallen.
We have also captured Zhytomyr and 5 Soviet divisions will hopefully soon be in a pocket.
Our Luftwaffe is busy sinking Soviet Submarines.
Amee Lapland has made excellent progress. The Soviets appear to have abandoned Murmansk and Petsamo. Both are ports on the Arctic Coast. They should be a Supply source.
02 May 1941: We would appreciate transit rights. Three divisions from 4. Armee have captured Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraune.
The War Balance so far and we have only lost 51K troops.
Our Greek heroes are home. The Fallschirmjäger have linked up with Armee Süd and Armee Nord 2. A huge pocket is forming.
In fact we now have 3 pockets with ca. a dozen Soviet divisions encircled.
Excellent progress in the South but delays in the North because we unexpectedly fight against forces in former Latvia and Estonia.
