Germany - Final Preparations (I) - 26 Feb to 27 Mar 1941

26 Feb 1941: I've just realized that 2nd Army still has the old Infanterie-Divisionen. Merde.
06 Mar 1941: I assign 1st Army Gtoup to Poland's border with Russia. Also a civil war has started in South Africa.
I have no idea who the People's Front are but they are probably Fascist.
Now they are in the headlines.
08 Mar 1941: That was to be expected.
10 Mar 1941: I assign the 2 Panzerarmeen to the Russian Front and set up operational goals for them. Moscow in the north and Kharkov in the south. The large green arrow is for 2nd Army Group - it's obective is the Urals and Caucasus.
13 Mar 1941: I assign the trained 13. Panzer-Division to 1st Panzerarmee.
18 Mar 1941: I commence justifying the war-goal. In 30 days we can attack. I might attack a bit later though.
19 Mar 1941: Research has completed on Construction III....
....and I select Concentrated Industry IV next.
My current Research projects. I might want to wait for the Artillery upgrade before starting the war.
20 Mar 1941: I've now added the plan for 3. Panzerarmee. We have 6 Armies at the frontline and 1 in reserve.
I dissolve Army Group 1 because I want the 3 Panzerarmee to act independently.
23 Mar 1941: I send then 20 Panzer I A's.
24 Mar 1941: A Hitler tirade against Communism.
25 Mar 1941: Great! We have cracked the Russian cypher.
It hasn't reveaed too much but is better than nothing.
26 Mar 1941: Let's look at the value of each plan. Army Group 1 has 70%.
Panzerarmee 3 has 60% because a division is still preparing.
Panzerarmee 2 has 80% because there is no large river they have to cross.
Panzerarmee 1 has 70% because a division is still preparing.
27 Mar 1941: SS General Paul Hausser, the commander of 3. Panzerarmee, has fallen ill. Very untimely.
I replace him with General von Manteufful.
More final preparations in the next post.
