Germany - Opposing Hitler - 13 Dec 1936 to 01 Jan 1937

13 Dec 1936: I return II. U-Boots Flotille to port. 14 Dec 1936: We have finished researching Basic Armour Protection.... ....and I select Improved Engine  next. 15 Dec 1936: I order the 1st and 2nd Armies to NW and SW Poland repectively. 16 Dec 1936: The Focus Oppose Hitler  has completed and Wehrmacht Officers rise up against the Nazi Leadership. I hate to think what it would look like if I were still at war with Poland. The Civil War begins. I replace Limited Conscription  with Extensive Conscription. I select Wilhelm-Wagen  as my next Focus. We are in the headlines again. All my regular Army is in Eatern Europe. I form three fronts. 17 Dec 1936: I aim to quicky capture East Prussia so that I can send the divisions westwards. 19 Dec 1936: We have captured Allenstein in East Prussia. 02 Nov 1936: The breakthrough at Katowice is imminent and I divert 16. Infanterie-Division to support the attack on Lódz. Poznan has been captured and the Polish forces around Danzig are threatened. The plans for Armee Ost operating from East Prussia. 04 Nov 1936: In the south Panzerkorps Guderian has captured Katowice and is poised to advance further. 07 Nov 1936: Guderian's Panzerkorps has penetrated the Polish lines with a deep thrust towards Warsaw. It has captured Kraków and Kielce and is heading towards Radom. I divert 2 Infanterie-Divisionen in Kraków north to widen the breach and 16. Infanterie-Division is direct south then east to cover our right flank and threaten Tarnów and Zamosc. In the north 2nd Army Gdynia and is about to enter the undefended Danzig, Bydgoszcz is also threatened. 09 Nov 1936: Danzig is ours and Armee Ost has broken out of East Prussia. 18 Oct 1936: We can now attack Poland. 19 Oct 1936: Beforehand we have completed researching Electronic Mechanical Engineering .... ....and I select Smoke Generators next. I declare war on Poland. Our Wehrmacht is stronger than the Polish Armed Forces but not overwhelmingly. I order the I. U-Boots Flotille to patrol in the Lower Baltic. I assign Luftwaffe Geschwader to Armies and Regions. I activate all Armies and apart from one the battles are all 'green'. 20 Oct 1936: Hurrah! We are in the World News. 22 Oct 1936: I add Force Attack for 1st and 2nd Armies.... ....as well as Panzerkorps Guderian. 25 Oct 1936: The frontline in the North.... ....and in the South. We haven't penetrated the Polish defences yet. 28 Oct 1936: It looks like the first breakthroughs will be at Poznan and north of Breslau.
