Russia - Advances On All Fronts and Istanbul Falls - 07 Sep to 21 Sep 1942

07 Sep 1942: I attach the Soviet Air Group 1 to Army Centre. We have Air Superiority everywhere.
On the Caucasus Front we are now winning every battle.
I add the Force Attack bonus to the 2nd Army Levant.
I transfer 2 Fighter Wings from Germany to Lebanon. They have the Air Supriority mission.
The Turkish Division defending Urfa is being pushed back and our forces now concentrate on its neighbour to the west.
08 Sep 1942: More good news. The effects of the Purge are diminishing at the right time.
14 Sep 1942: One week into the campaign and all of 2nd Army Levant has advanced into Turkish territory.
15 Sep 1942: Army Romania is also advancing despite superior Turkish numbers and excellent defensive terrain.
Latvia may join the war.
16 Sep 1942: Research has been completed on Logistics Company II....
....and I select Recon Company II next.
My current Research. The Turks have reinforced their left flank so we switch to their right flank.
The War Summary shows that the war is going in our favour and Turkey is 17% towards capitulation.
We call Italy into the war.
17 Sep 1942: We have captured Istanbul and are attacking across the Straits; my armour is not yet committed.
18 Sep 1942: I commit my armour and we shall soon overwhelm the defenders.
19 Sep 1942: We have prevailed and are now in Asia Minor. The capture of a German Agent in the Soviet homeland has put Germany in a very bad light, Do they want a third war and risk being wiped off the map of Europe?
The Turkish counterattack is getting nowhere and the fall of Izmit is imminent. Our 7th Tank Division, being held back, is ordered to take the port Adapazari on the Black Sea coast.
21 Sep 1942: Izmit has fallen. While the 9th and 10th Cossack Divisions are fending off the Turkish counterattack the 7th Tank Division is still advancing towards the port.
I am adding 2 Tactical Bomber Wings, transfering from Leningrad, to Army Reserve. Is that a Turkish Spitfire over Izmit???
We are making excellent progress and Turkey stands alone.
