USA - Crossing the Rhein En Masse - 25 Dec 1941 to 25 Jan 1942
25 Dec 1941: The last two German strongholds in France are both fortresses. Metz has always been a fortress and the second is the NE corner of the Maginot Line. Metz should be neutralized within a week. The US Armoured Corps is attacking across the Rhein just to the North of the Maginot Line.
30 Dec 1941: They succeeded and are now in Stuttgart. The Maginot Line defenders are also under attack.01 Jan 1942: Metz has been captured and I transfer 8 of the divisions to 1st Armoured Corps.
03 Jan 1942: Good for them.
05 Jan 1942: A Civil War avoided. A rarity these days.
09 Jan 1942: I attack southwest from both Stuttgart and the Rhein bridge. The defenders on the Rhein are ocuupying part of the Westwall.
13 Jan 1942: We have linked up SW of Stuttgart and the Fortress Pocket should be elimanated within a week.
14 Jan 1942: The OSS has been upgraded with the Airforce Department and I select the Army Department next.
I select the Operative Carol Beatty (Wolf)....
....and her mission is to set up an Intel Network in Berlin.
15 Jan 1942: I'm finally reorganizing my frontline. 1st Armoured Corps now has a Front down to the Swiss border and the 71st Philippines Division is assigned to Army France because that's where it is.
17 Jan 1942: The prime objective is to reduce that pocket to free up the divisions for other missions.
Enjoy your retirement.
18 Jan 1942: The Westwall half of the pocket is now in our hands.
20 Jan 1942: We are attacking South from Stuttgart to capture one German division on the Swiss border.
23 Jan 1942: We have researched Landing Craft which makes Amphibious Assaults much easier and more effective.
We sign the non-aggression pact.
I select to research Advanced Ship Torpedo Launcher from Norfolk Naval Yard next.
25 Jan 1942: Advanced Rubber Processing has also completed Research....
....and I select Advanced Machine Tools next.
My current Research projects.
Next month we shall be able to design a modern Submarine.
