Germany - The Road to Palermo (I) - 08 Feb to 05 Mar 1941
08 Feb 1941: I'm shipping most of Armee Italien to Ancona now that Italian forces in Istria have been defeated.
10 Feb 1941: Good work. There are few Fascist Italian divisions in the south. One of our divisions easily 'walked' into Roma. More divisions are ordered to follow.
Keep it for yourself.
A fair swap.
12 Feb 1941: Bad news because we don't have enough operatives to rescue him.
More new armoured forces have been deployed and are placed in training.
16 Feb 1941: Not looking good for Italy.
17 Feb 1941: It's time to advance south.
19 Feb 1941: The newly-deployed 3. and 4. Fallschirmjäger-Divisionen are placed in training.
Bologna is about to fall. Most Fascist Italian divisions appear to be in the north.
21 Feb 1941: Mopping up before all forces head south.
25 Feb 1941: The 'heel' of Italy and Napoli will soon fall.
26 Feb 1941: Our new objective isn't that far away.
Italy is now at 82% towards capitulation.
28 Feb 1941: We need to deny the enemy that airfield. Note 3 UK divisions north of Foggia.
01 Mar 1941: The Abwehr has been upgraded with Machine-Assisted Decryption (III)....
....and I select Army Department next.
02 Mar 1941: We have reached the 'toe' of Italy.
03 Mar 1941: The road has been cleared and 3 Divisionen from Armee Krüger are ordered to Palermo.
04 Mar 1941: I add two more Divisionen from Armee Italien.
Four more Divisionen from Armee Krüger are to follow.
An Italian Battleship has been sunk in the Adriatic Sea.
05 Mar 1941: More fighting in the north. Note that my Panzerarmee isn't being used because we have no Fuel.
We don't need the Panzers though. The end is nigh for Mussolini.
