Germany - Setting Up the Campaign - 01 Jan to 07 Jan 1936
This new version of Hearts Of Iron has introduced Research Facilities which perform Fundamental Research looking for a scientific breakthrough. All Nations can do this not just Germany. In my previous post I included a link explaining the new rules. Here it is again under Special Projects:
01 Jan 1936: Germany has a Land Warfare Facility in Brandenburg, I add the Scientist Eduard Grote who increases Research at the facility.
I have chosen Flammpanzer - Flamethrower Tank. According to the chart below we soon have a Naval Breakthrough.Back to the Campaign and the Wehrmacht has 30 divisions. I separate the 4 mobile divisions, also the 4 divisions in Ostpreussen.
I assign Army 1 to the Polish border.
Research is next and I select 4 Technologies:
The first one, MG 08 & leichter Minenwerfer, is Land Warfare so it should help the Special Project.
I assign my Military Factories (MIF) to the Heer and Luftwaffe.
Here is my production for Capital Ships, U-Booten and Destroyers. (The latter have no Dockyards assigned at the moment.)
I lack Rubber so I import some from the United Kingdom.
Initially I shall only construct Civilian Factories, CIF's. (Why the middle 'I'? Well CF is OK but MF has another meaning....)
Here is my standard Infanterie-Division.
I start recruiting batches of 6 which will deploy in Brandenburg.
I order Naval Exercises for Marineschule Kiel....
....and Pilot Exercises for 3 Geschwader in Niederschlesien, (Lower Saxony).
My Armies need Commanders. I. Panzerkorps has General Fedor von Bock.
I assign General Erich von Manstein to Armee 1.
General Werner von Fritsch commands Armee Ostpreussen. Also shown is my Political Power.
Next War Support, which is low, and Manpower.
My Factories and available Fuel.
My Logistics Fulfillment and available Convoys.
04 Jan 1936: Finally I am informed of what we is missing from Production. I have no Fallschirmjägers so I don't need Transports and I already have enough Naval Bombers.
07 Jan 1936: I also order Naval Exercises for Ostseeflotte.
Germany is missing Panzer Generals like Guderian and Rommel - also something new.
