Germany - Unternehmen Dynamo (III) - 04 Jul to 04 Aug 1940

04 Jul 1940: I've extended the area where garrison forces are required so I now need 62 divisions but only 42 divisions are assigned to 5th Army so I'll have to take them from other armies.

Done but some armies now are weaker.

05 Jul 1940: Chamberlin is out and Winston Churchill takes over. He has a reputation!

I change Rommel's army into a garrison force so after the Caucasus is captured the army will stay there.

06 Jul 1940: Stalingrad is ours!

I have plenty of fuel and I emphasize MF construction.

11 Jul 1940: Now we have captured Moscow. The main goals of Unternehmen Dynamo have been achieved.

13 Jul 1940: The number of regions with high levels of resistance has dropped.

20 Jul 1940: The Soviet Union is now 81% towards capitulation and have 1.37 million casualties compared to our 98K.

24 Jul 1940: We have large deficits of essential equipment.

Resistance now looks a lot better.

We are still #2 in the world and the Soviets have dropped to #5.

The Scharnhorst is fully-trained and I assign it to the Ostseeflotte.

The northern front looks chaotic. A large area to cover and not enough troops.

25 Jul 1940: I order two armies of the southern front to attack eastwards. The main objective is Saratov, north of Stalingrad.

26 Jul 1940: I deploy 2 air wings to the Kuban region to ensure air superiority in this key area.

In the Black Sea we sink 3 Soviet submarines.

29 Jul 1940: The civil war in Mexico ends.

Another Soviet destroyer has been sunk.

Now we have resistance problems in Yugoslavia. I'll add Bosnia and Serbia to the garrison area of Besatzungsarmee Süd. The Central Front is pushing forward nicely.

The Russian line looks a bit thin but our supplies are getting short too which lowers the effectiveness of our divisions.

02 Aug 1940: Good for Trotsky.

04 Aug 1940: Baku has fallen. The main Soviet oilfields are in our hands.

Now the Soviets are 91% towards capitulation.

The Soviets now only have half as many divisions as we have and they only have 69 factories and dockyards compared to our 289.

Unternehmen Dynamo is now completed. We march to the Urals next.
