Germany - Unternehmen Dynamo (I) - 01 to 22 Jun 1940

01 Jun 1940: I activate my decryption bonuses of the Abwehr's intel on the Soviets.

By destroying most if not all of the Soviet forces along the border Unternehmen Barbarossa has been achieved. The goal of Unternehmen Dynamo is the capture of Moscow and Stalingrad as well as the Caucasus. A further operation in the north aims to capture Murmansk, Archangelsk and secure the northern flank of our advance on Moscow. There are now two Armeegruppen. Von Rundstedt commands the northern force and von Kluge the southern group.

03 Jun 1940: Fools!

04 Jun 1940: Sad news but his army is at the gates of Kharkov.

06 Jun 1940: With the capture of Sevastopol the Soviet Black Sea Fleet has lost its main port.

09 Jun 1940: Guderian's Korps is making huge progress on the Northern Front.

The Centre is smashing its way through Soviet defences and heading to Moscow.

In the South I have two armies crossing each other's path. Not intended but just as in real life in the 1942 Fall Blau.

10 Jun 1940: I have regained air-superiority along the entire front.

I need to do something about the increased resistance in occupied Italy. I transfer 9 divisions from Armee Übersee to Besatzungsarmee Süd.

I relieve Armee Übersee of its duties in Sardinia and Sicily....

….and transfer the islands to Besatzungsarmee Süd's responsibility.

11 Jun 1940: The plans for Rommel's Armee Kaukasus.

We have complete air-superiority in the Northern Front.

13 Jun 1940: We are advancing towards Rostov along two routes.

14 Jun 1940: An important airfield has been captured south of Zaporozhe.

16 Jun 1940: Deep penetrations in the southern sector.

17 Jun 1940: The road to Rostov is wide open.

22 Jun 1940: These so-called allies are not helping at all!

The operation is coming along fine but the performance of our allies is dismal. But no attacks = no VP's! I shall have the last laugh.
