Germany - Russia Declares War and Panzer IV - 15 Feb to 18 Mar 1940
15 Feb 1940: The 12 Infanterie-Divisionen deployed early are sent to the Armeeschule.
The trained 60. Infanterie-Division (mot.) is assigned to 2. Panzerkorps.07 Mar 1940: Now that is a surprise! On the other hand Japan is very busy in China so they could be ripe for a defeat.
The 6. Panzer-Division has been deployed and is placed in training.
The fully-trained 8. Panzer-Division is assigned to 2. Panzerkorps.
10 Mar 1940: We have completed researching the Improved Medium Tank Chassis....
....and I select Mechanical Computing next.
What the Empire is currently researching.
U-41 and U-42 are assigned to II. U-Boots Flotille....
....while the Destroyer (Zerstörer) Z-19 is assigned to the Ostseeflotte (Baltic Fleet).
13 Mar 1940: I'm improving the Rail Network in NE Poland.
18 Mar 1940: I create a variant of the Panzer IV.
It was automatically called Panzer IV A but since we already have that I renamed it Panzer IV D.
It replaces the Panzer IV B in the Production table. Note that it is not upgrading the Panzer IV B.
The German-Russian Trade Agreement allows me to reduce existing imports. I cancel the Rubber from France....
....and the Chromium from Turkey.
I also reduce the Rubber from British Malaya. (That maybe wrong!)
The Soviet Union is always good for surpries. They seem to believe that Germany will be quite because of the Trade Agreement. Wrong!
