Germany - Luftwaffe Expansion, Heavy Fighters and a Huge Surprise - 18 Mar to 13 Apr 1944
18 Mar 1944: We have researched Centimetric Radar....
....and we move on to Improved Centimetric Radar. We are slowly catching up.My current Research projects.
I deploy 6 Sturm-Divisionen early and place them in training.
22 Mar 1944: I reduce Aluminium imports from Hungary.
27 Mar 1944: My Fighter and Stuka production.
I deploy 3 new Air Wings at Nowogródek in NE Poland.
28 Mar 1944: I assign two Russian Cavalry Divisions to Armee Magyar in the Caucasus.
30 Mar 1944: I double the size of the Carrier Wings on the Carriers Europa and Peter Strasser and I order Pilot Exercises.
01 Apr 1944: The Ju 388 Heavy Fighter will be available in 11 days....
....so I deploy 3 Air Wings of its predecessor, the Me 410, in Weser-Ems, Rhineland and Württemberg.
I create a second production line for 1940 Destroyer Hull B (ASW).
05 Apr 1944: The Kazakh 1. Gebirgs-Division is deployed and I place it in Armeeschule Moskva.
11 Apr 1944: I create a second Heavy Fighter production line.
12 Apr 1944: The third and final Machine-Assisted Encryption upgrade has been completed for the Abwehr.
The Junkers Ju 388 has been researched.
I create an improved variant, Ju 388 A, with increased Attack, Engine and Reliability and place it in production.
I need to import more Aluminium from Hungary.
I choose to research Advanced Artillery Upgrade next.
The Arado Ar 196 Naval Bomber will be available next.
I assign the 109th Russian Armoured Division to Armee Arktik.
I deploy a new Fighter Wing in Lower Austria....
...and upgrade a Stuka Wing in Slovenia the next day.
13 Apr 1944: Wow! We are now #1 in the world. The UK and US have lost Fleets, or maybe they have just consolidated some. The RAF losses are substantial, or maybe aircraft originally deployed in the Americas have been placed in Reserve.
The Luftwaffe now looks impressive but thousands of those aircraft are old Me 109s and Ju 87s. I wonder how many Hurricanes and biplanes are in the RAF inventory. The Fw 190s will slaughter them.
