Germany - Progress on all Fronts - 07 May to 11 May 1942
07 May 1942: It looks a bit confusing but there are several armies converging. Italian and French forces are being encircled. Belgrade is one of many key Yugoslavian cities which have already fallen.
08 May 1942: We can't win them all. You won't see the Kriegsmarine involved in major naval battles because we only have U-Booten on patrol. Now that ports in Turkey have been secured I bring in 3 divisions each from Odessa and Sevastopol.
I reassign two Panzer-Divisionen to Armee Ukraine so that we have a single command.
In fact I decide to create a new Army using units from Armee Ukraine and Panzerarmee Guderian.
The new 1st Army has clear objectives defined - most of of Italian annexed Turkey.
The encirclement in Serbia continues. Hopefully I can soon send some of these forces to help out in Greece or Italy.
Thessaloniki has been captured and further west our forces are advancing south.
1st Army's bridgehead in Asia Minor.
09 May 1942: The situation in NW Turkey is developing well. Where are all the Italians you may be asking. Italy is hopelessly overextended. Do you remember the pic of Africa? That's where a lot of them are probably. That's why we must act swiftly and bring Italy to its knees before all those divisions can return home.
I expand the area to be garrisoned by 1. Armee Bohemian to include Croatia. Von Manstein's Panzerarmee has captured Bologna and keeping up the pressure.
I import Steel from the Russian Empire....
....to meet the increasing needs of naval production.
The plans to occupy Lombardy and Piedmont in NW Italy.
Armee Belarus is ordered to force march along the Adriatic coast to Montenegro.
So we got one of their merchant ships.
I order the remaining three Panzer-Divisionen of Guderian's Armee to help out in Greece.
10 May 1942: Win one, lose one.
France is now 88% towards capitulation and has suffered 1.65 million casualties. We have only lost 7,000 troops in the first week of this campaign.
11 May 1942: We accept the Lend Lease of Motorized from Romania.
We definitely need to produce more trucks for the Panzer-Divisionen.
I've managed to control the chaos so far. It isn't easy to fight on six fronts simultaneously.
