Allies - A New Front: The Landings in Italy - 12 Nov to 10 Dec 1940

12 Nov 1940: Army Canada's frontline in Germany. We are successfully attacking in the north and are planning to capture Stuttgart in the south.
13 Nov 1940: I activate Army Macedonia's invasion of Italy but where are those numbers coming from? I planned 3, 3 and 2 divisions!
14 Nov 1940: Greater Portugal has capitulated and the UK gets some of the equipment and FUEL.
17 Nov 1940: Army Canada has begun the southern attack and progress has been made in the north.
18 Nov 1940: The Romanians lose 3 Merchants to Italian Submarines.
21 Nov 1940: We have landed on the Italian beaches and the Focus Aircraft Production Group has been completed.
Albania joins the war against Italy and the rest.
I add a 6th Dockyard to the production of 1940 Light Cruisers and now that we have captured the port Ancona I can ship reinforcements from Croatia.
I select Air Defence as my next Focus.
22 Nov 1940: I have captured a 2nd port, Pescara, so I can ship reinforcements there too.
25 Nov 1940: We lost 2 Destroyers to the main Italian fleet.
27 Nov 1940: I have redrawn the frontline with clear objectives including Rome and Anzio. More reinforcements are at sea.
29 Nov 1940: We have lost another Merchant to Italian Submarines but fortunately not in the Adria.
01 Dec 1940: Breakout! We are advancing on Rome.
02 Dec 1940: The Greek Navy has bumped into the large Italian fleet and is wisely withdrawing.
05 Nov 1940: Rome has fallen - Naples too.
07 Dec 1940: Warsaw has been captured by the Germans! So that's why German troops left France.
The Italians are already 50% towards capitulation.
I need to clear that Italian 'almost' pocket then head south while hoping to hold in the north.
08 Dec 1940: I can live with the shortage of 97 Infantry Equipment.
09 Nov 1940: Now the Royal Navy has arrived and Italians are withdrawing with losses.
10 Dec 1940: We won that battle! Good work lads!
I want to knock Italy out of the war before I worry about Eastern Europe. More in the next post.
