04 Feb 1936: Army Latvia neeeds to be trained.... ....as does Army Finland. I transfer 2 NKVD Divisions from Army Finland to NKVD Forces. ....as well as 1 division from Army Estonia which also needs training. One division from Army Turkey.... ....and 2 divisions from Army Sinkiang are transferred to NKVD Forces I also transfer 2 divisions from Army Far East.... ....as well as 5 divisions from Army Reserve. Finally 4 divisions are transferred from Army South to NKVD Forces. I order training for all 18 divisions of NKVD Forces. The Soviet Rifle Division is missing an Artillery Battalion and an Engineers Support Company but it will suffice 'as is' for the Polish campaign. The Mountain Rifle Division looks good. The Motorized Rifle Division is missing all kinds of support. That's more like a Cavalry Brigade. I could use the NKVD Division for Countering Resistance and as reserve units during the Polish campaign. This is better than the German Panzer-Division from 1936. Not power

01 Jan 1936: The Far East Front with my Aircraft and Armour production. My non-Armour Army production. My Destroyer and Cruiser production. 05 Jan 1936: Army Group North has been created from Finland, Estonia and Latvia Armies. Army Poland is currently the only Army on the Polish border. It will eventually be joined by Army Reserve.... ....and Army South. Army Turkey consists of 9 divisions along the Turkish border. Army Far East has 18 divisions along the border with Manchukuo. I start recruiting 3 Rifle Divisions in Gomel and 1 Rifle Division in Vladivostok. I'm gravely short on Infantry Equipment. My Fuel stocks are looking good although there is a shortage in the Far East. How my Political Power (PP) is calculated. The Diplomacy Ledgers for Japan and China. For Info only. I'll need 50 PP and 250 days to justify a war against Poland. Romania is guaranteeing the independence of Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Turkey and Greece. (They think a lot of themselves.) 01 Jan 1936: The immenseness of the Soviet Union compared to Europe. I only have 3 Research lines at thr beginning of the campaign. The Focus Tree is also immense. Here Industry, Aviation and Navy (partial) Essentially the historical economics. The Centre (historical) and Left Opposition alternative timeline. The Right Opposition timeline plus Internal Affairs and Comintern (partial). Foreign Policy. The White Army won the Civil War in the 1920's. I select The Path of Marxism Leninism  as my first Focus. I create 5 Armies along my western front. I plot an offensive plan to capture Poland. My Army Reserve in western Russia. I import Rubber from British Malaya. I order Naval Exercises for the Baltic Fleet. I also create a Training Fleet for new warships which will be produced but at first I can use it for existing ships. It takes a while to setup this campaign. More in the next post.
