Germany - Capturing Crete and Ending the War - 19 Dec 1942 to 18 Jan 1943
19 Dec 1942: My Aircraft production. The unrest is in Spain so I need to end this conflict in order to calm things down over there.
I plan a 3 division amphibious assault to capture the port of Chania.I send the Hochseeflotte to the Aegean Sea to join a major battle there.
The assault requires 10 days of planning.
22 Dec 1942: I order the II. U-Boots Flotille into the Central Mediterranen region.
23 Dec 1942: I need more Rubber for my economy so I import some from France.
29 Dec 1942: We win a naval batlle near Crete.
31 Dec 1942: I activate the assault on Crete.
04 Jan 1943: The 3 divisions are approaching Chania and Hungary is requesting to join the war.
04 Jan 1943: We grant their request. It's almost over anyway.
We win a second naval battle sinking 3 Greek merchants.
06 Jan 1943: We obviously captured Chania and Greese has capitulated.
I do nothing in the 1st two rounds because I didn't have enough Victory Points. In round 3 I demanded Crete and the Aegean Islands.
07 Jan 1943: I gain them then end the negotiations. The Treaty of Heraklion.
08 Jan 1943: I order most of 3. Panzerarmee to Patras so that it can be shipped out.
09 Jan 1943: I ship 5 of these divisions to Corfu.
I import more Rubber, this time from Italy.
10 Dec 1943: I order the shipment of the 3 divisions on Crete to Albania.
14 Jan 1943: The 4 remaining divisions of 3. Panzerarmee in Patras are also shipped to Albania.
17 Jan 1943: I order the 2 Panzerarmeen to Bucharest, Romania.
18 Jan 1943: We have researched the 15 cm Kanone 18....
....and select to research the rocket launcher Nebelwerfer 41 next.
The Greek campaign took much too long and I must ask myself what Bulgaria really gained from this worthless escapade.
